My Cute Student Doctor

Zac's first official day of medical school was on Monday. I guess they call them student doctors on campus so that is how I will refer to him for a while. j/k He got to wear his scrubs to his first lab this morning. I had to take a picture. I think it is wierd to think that my crazy husband is going to be expected to save lives in seven short years. Scary!

P.S. Sorry I write so much about my husband, it's just that we don't have any kids yet and talking about myself all the time gets so boring.

What Guys Do!

So I get home from work tonight to find Zac and his two "med school" buddies on the floor watching Budlight commercials on the internet. Am I worried? Slightly. They were laughing histarically. It is always entertaining to see what guys do for entertainment. I asked them what they had been up to. Their response: We were hungry so we went to Jack In the Box and then we walked around Cabella's for a while. Isn't it funny how different guys and girls are? Could you imagine choosing Jack In the Box for a girl's night out dinner? Sick!!

I am glad to see my husband having friends again. He has been a little bit of what we call a "loner" since we've been married. I have been one too though, so it's ok.

One thing I have to add. Zac actually told the guys he had to run a quick errand while they were watching tv. Where did he go? He went to buy me flowers and Peanut Butter M&M's. What a sweetheart. I love him.

Highlight at Cheesecake Factory

Tonight I got to deliver a diamond ring on a platter with candles and rose pedals to a girl at one of my tables who was getting proposed to. Instead of delivering the cheesecake they ordered I got the ring from the guy's sister and gave it to the future bride. I felt so important and part of the action. It was pretty cute though because the guy was so nervous through out the whole dinner. He couldn't eat and the girl kept asking what was wrong with him. She had no idea.
Well, that is the cool stuff I get to do at my awesome job. Totally kidding, most days it is quite anti-climatic. In fact often times I have break-downs because I have such an unfulfilling job. What do I really do that is of any worth at that place? I know, I make our nation more obeise, so sad. J/K Someone's gotta do the dirty work, it may as well be me. I have to remind myself that I am putting Zacchy-Zac through medical school. It is almost 2:00 am, I better go to bed now.

I love IKEA!!

Zac and I had tuesday off so we went to the Mesa temple, Bajio, and then off to Ikea. We walked in at 6:00pm and walked out at 8:45 with a few new thing and a hundred ideas for our own home one day. We decided this place has so much to offer and in only seven short years we can enjoy it all with a little less guilt. Here is what we bought.

This is our new kitchen rug. A little bit bright, but it makes me happy to look at.

This is the desk that will get Zac through med school. He put it up last night and is pretty excited about it. He has already asked me to sit in it several times just to feel how comfortable the chair is. He feels pretty cool about his new set up.

This is just a picture we thought would brighten up our room a little. Pretty exciting stuff.

Yosemite-Ay-ey

It has become tradition for me to relive my dream of becoming a member of the troop, Beverly Hills (after the movie, Troop Beverly Hills) every time I see a large log such as this one. It is usually just me doing it by myself while Zac stands there and amuses me for a few minutes while I have my fun. Luckily, this time I had a fellow movie buff with me, Sarah, my sister. We reenacted the scene where Shelly Long has to cross the deep ravine to help her troop get to the finish. Warning: It gets a little intense. For those of you who have never seen the movie, I forgive you, but please, get with the times and go watch it. They don't make them like they use to, that's for sure.

I am afraid this picture doesn't do the rainbow at Vernal Falls justice. It was so clear and bright. You can barely see it in the picture. It is to the right of my legs. The guy we asked to take the picture didn't want to stand up, so this is all we got to capture the beauty. It was a steep hike. We elevated 1,000 feet in only one mile. It felt like it was staright up the whole way.
The view and the memory was totally worth it though.

Carli and I were buddies all week long. I gave her these whistles for her birthday. I actually bought them for Zac and I to have in case of emergeny while camping, but when we arrived to the campsite Carli's first question was, "Do you have my birthday present?" That was the only thing I could come up with out of my suitcase. It was either that or bug spray. I didn't want to risk her confusing that with perfume in High School. I'm afraid she would be repelling more than just bugs. The whistles were my best bet. She loved them. I got to sit next to her on every drive while she practiced blowing her whistle. What a mistake that was. She gave me one of them so we could match. We also had matching bandanas tied around our arms. At the end of the week, Carli hosted an awards ceremony where she handed out individual awards for all 28 of us. I got the best buddy award shockingly. I was flattered to say the least.

This is my husband with my niece, Avery (Holly's youngest). I think he will be a good dad.

Guess Who? Yep, it's me. I got a tattoo. Totally kidding. I thought it would be fun to freak my parents out and tell them I got a real one from a friend at work. I told them she did it for free and I could get it laser-removed whenever I want. They didn't find it to be as funny as I did when I told them I was joking.

It's true, this is my "little" brother Justin. He absolutely loved the river. We also learned that he enjoys having pictures taken of him. I have about a dozen other poses on my camera of him. He was striking them like crazy and loving every minute of it.

This is my sister, Holly and I at the top of Lembert Dome. It was a really pretty hike and not too long.

I don't know why Zac didn't like this pose. It's not like he looks gay or anything.

These are the shirts Zac and I had made for the camping trip. They were pretty awesome.

Bon Voyage!!

We are on our way to the beautiful state of California. We are camping in Yosemite with my family. We are pretty excited. Zac has been preparing for this trip since Christmas when he asked for a tent. Since then, he has been putting the tent up in our family room just to make sure he doesn't look like a fool in front of the other brothers-in-law. He started his time trials about a month ago and has dramatically improved his time from twelve minutes to six minutes flat. Yeah, I am pretty proud of him.
Since the tent has been taking up most of the space in our family room we have held Family Home Evening in it, watched movies in it, and laid out our sleeping bags in it just to see where we want to have our heads and out feet. We are pretty much set for this trip. I make fun of him to his face, but secretly I think it is really cute. His passion for preparation is just one of the qualities that made me fall in love with him.
We ordered "Freestone University" shirts from a stupid advertisement we received in the mail. They are pretty sweet looking. Our Accord is going to be packed full tomorrow morning with I don't even know what. Zac says, "It's better to be safe than sorry." I made sure our camera battery is fully charged, so we will be able to capture this big adventure in it's entirety. I will update when we return.
