Stolen car...found car

So last Thursday night Zac's Honda Accord got stolen from outside of our apartment complex. We didn't think we lived in the "hood" until this incident occured. It was quite devestating to the two of us. We immediately started assessing the situation and how were going to make our work schedules work with one car. Some of our options were Zac rides his bike 15 miles in 107 degree weather, I just quit my job, or I pick Zac up from Walgreens (where he works) a good five hours after he gets off. For some reason we weren't loving any of theses options so we got on our knees and pleaded that we would recieve some good fortune.
A couple of days went by with no sign of a car and our high hopes of the car being found were depleting. My siblings were kind enough to offer selling us their cars, but unless they were willing to make a deal about three thousand under the four thousand they were asking for, we were both out of luck.
So Saturday night rolls around, it was two o'clock in the morning and I was tired. I felt like I should pray specifically that our car be found. I laid in bed and couldn't fall asleep. About 30 minutes later Zac's cell phone rings. It is a cop asking us if we had reported a stolen car. He found it. We had to drive out to the middle of nowhere to pick it up in the middle of the night. Turns out the guy who stole the car sent the policeman on a wild goose chase. He drove off into an open neighborhood with lots of trees, parked the car and booked it. The cops could not catch him. Fortunately, but kind of creepy, the only thing he took from Zac's car, aside from his spoiler, was the ax my dad gave him for Christmas. So to make a long story short, there is a fugitive out there who knows where we live and has our ax. Am I sort of scared? YES!!

Oh my gosh Becky. I'm kinda freaking out. One that you are now driving around in the car and that the robber has an ax! That's crazy. You should watch the news and see if anything happens. Hopefully they don't match Zac's fingerprints with it if something does though.

I'm really glad you got the car back though. You are always so good when stuff like that happens. But, what did you do for getting each other back and forth to work? And couldn't your insurance give you $ for the car?

I know. Too many questions.

Becky- so glad that you found the car. We really aren't in a place to buy a new car so it is probably better that you didn't take us up on our offer!

I think you guys should move- I'd be freaked out to stay there now.

Wow Beck--- scary. I'm SOOO glad they found your car. If you would have blogged about it earlier we all would have been praying with you. Did Zac always drive around with an ax? What could be a freakier weapon?

Becky! Why in the world did your dad give Zac an ax for Christmas?

That is such a crazy story. I'm glad you got your car back, but I'm a little scared for you! Better keep on praying at 2 int he morning!

Becky, a woman of faith. You're such a good example of where to put effort when crisis comes knocking. I'm SO SO sorry that you two had this happen! Did you ever know Sara Pratt? Her car was stolen in a nice Salt Lake neighborhood this year. She eventually got hers back too (really funny story, caught the thieves when they locked themselves out of the car and were trying to break in), but I think sometimes bad people take things from good neighborhoods. It's where the goods are. Christy was mugged in a nicer neighborhood in New York. Just be where you feel safe - either there or elsewhere, and keep on your knees:)

Miss you - when can I see you?!

Becky, I miss you. Come back! I'm out of the country but want to talk to you SOON and catch up. Saws Legally Blonde on broadway w/ Christy and couldn't stop thinking about you and how much you used to love Elle Woods. It was actually surprisingly excellent, so when YOU come to the East Coast to visit, we'll see it. Still talking about a West Coast trip maybe in the fall... Let's talk shop. Love you Becky Shae!

(this is Sarah, blogger won't let me log on today and my computer's in french so I can't figure it out)

Oh whoa, now that's scary! Stay safe over there, you hear? It's best to calm down and consider your situation. It's great that your car was found in one piece, more or less. Let's hope that the one who stole your car gets caught!
